Access permissions

Access permissions for residential communities.

Decide who is authorised to enter each space, for how long and under which conditions. Onzane turns community access rules into specific, editable and revocable permissions.

A rule that can be verified

From community policy to a specific authorisation.

A permission combines identity, scope and validity. Every access attempt can check these details before entry is authorised.

  1. 01 Define the scope

Select the door, area or facility that may be accessed.

  2. 02 Assign the permission

Link it to a specific person, property, professional profile or vehicle.

  3. 03 Check validity

Onzane validates dates, days, times and conditions before allowing access.

  4. 04 Edit or revoke

Change the scope or withdraw the authorisation when it is no longer needed.

From the management panel

Authorisation is configured with clear limits.

Authorised managers administer permissions in one place and adapt them to the real operation of each community.

Authorisations with context

The permission is assigned to whoever actually needs it.

Not every access should work alike. Communities can use different criteria for residents, staff and external professionals.

01 Residence

Residents and properties

The permission can belong to one person or depend on their connection to a property in the community.

02 Operations

Employees and profiles

Concierge, security or maintenance staff access the areas required by their role and working hours.

03 Job

Providers and technicians

Authorisation can be limited to the space and duration of a job, without retaining permanent access.

Validity and traceability

The permission changes when the relationship with the space changes.

An authorisation does not have to last indefinitely. It may start later, be limited to certain times and expire automatically.

  • Automatic start and expiry.
  • Different times depending on the day.
  • Temporary suspension without deleting the configuration.
  • Immediate revocation when authorisation ends.
  • History of assignments and changes.

One part of access control

Permission, credential and device are not the same.

Separating these concepts explains what the community authorises without duplicating content about the opening method or a specific space.

01 Rule

The permission authorises

It defines who may enter, which space and for how long. It is the decision that must be met.

02 Use

The pass proves

It is a credential or usage right that a person presents to identify themselves or gain access.

03 Execution

The device opens

It is the physical element that validates authorisation and operates a door, turnstile or other point.

Frequently asked questions

Access permissions in residential communities.

Answers focused on assignment, scope, schedules, validity and revocation.

01Who can receive an access permission?

Depending on the community setup, it may be linked to a person, property, employee or provider profile, visitor or vehicle.

02Can a permission be restricted to certain doors?

Yes. Its scope may include one point, several related doors or one facility without authorising other spaces.

03Can dates and times be defined?

Yes. Start, end, weekdays and time slots can be set so authorisation is valid only when appropriate.

04What happens when an authorisation ends?

It can expire automatically on its scheduled date or be revoked immediately in the panel. It will then fail access validation.

05Does a permission determine how a door opens?

Not necessarily. A permission defines authorisation. Opening may use the app, a card, QR, number plate or another compatible credential and device.

06Is a permission the same as a pass?

No. A permission represents the authorisation and its limits. A pass may be the right or credential used to prove access within those rules.

07Can changes be reviewed?

Management keeps the information needed to review assignments, statuses and permission changes according to the configuration and authorised profiles.

Authorisations under control

Every access begins with a well-defined permission.
